Author Notes - Michael Anderle August 12, 2020 Thank you for allowing me to work in a profession that feeds my need to be creative. That is to you the reader, and companies such as Amazon (and others such as Apple, Google, Kobo, Barnes & Noble etc.) which have created the distribution methods we indie publishers use today. Without readers such as yourself willing to take a chance, I wouldn’t have the honor to chat (even in the back of the book) with thousands of people. So, I just got off the phone and did something I’ve NEVER done before. I reached out to Martha and asked her to add to her author notes. I had to explain that mindfulness (the concept) is something my brain doesn’t understand (nor the corollary be-in-the-moment.) I heard the term hundreds of times, but never have I had someone explain what the @#%@# it meant in a way I could grasp. And Martha did it. But, I couldn’t follow all of her comments without trying two or three times to unpack her thoughts. So, I reached out and asked if she would EXPAND her author notes. You know, to author block me because she needs my help to accomplish that little feat (she does not.) I appreciate her explanation for a concept I am going to be able to use. I’m 52 years old. Maybe I’ve got 10 years, maybe I’ve got another 50 years (my grandmother was 100 when she passed) but I now understand when someone tells me to be in the moment. Don’t even ask what I said to those people in my head after about the 10th time. Even Bethany Anne might be impressed with the purity of the cursing. Since I didn’t say anything out loud, I nodded my head politely and still went away confused. So, if you haven’t read Martha’s author comments in this book (and don’t understand ‘mindfulness’) go back and give it a read. It’s pretty freaking useful as a core tool to use to help you make your life better. I’m looking forward to another chance to talk in the next book!
